Description

Archive originials to be deposited at Nottingham University Museum eventually. (1) This appears to be incorrect, see below. (4) Excavations began in the summer of 1974 on Site 1 which seemed to correspond with the praetorium of Rooke's letter. ..... In the autumn of 1974 trenches were put down in a field on the south-east side of the plateau at SK 596484...... In 1975 Site 3 was opened on the south-west side of the plateau in woodland at SK 493481. (2) Source (3) does not indicate dates for the various trenches.
