Description

Field B, a N to S transect was walked to allow comparison of the relative density of finds from the ploughsoil over the villa site and within the road corridor. Finds within field B were recorded in the same way as elsewhere but the material was not collected as the area is not under threat from the road and it was therefore judged best to leave it in situ. Field B was ploughed and well weathered when walked. (1) See E9015 and E9017 for fieldwalking in fields A and C. See E9007 for cross refs to A453 improvement scheme evaluations.
