Description

Two borrow pits. A watching brief was undertaken on the gravel extraction. In borrow pit 1 the watching brief covered both the fine grained alluvium overburden and the coarse grained alluvial gravel. In borrow pit 2 the watching brief covered just the coarse grained alluvial gravel. (1) Grid ref centred on borrow pit 2. See E9556 for earlier trenching in borrow pits.
