Description

Metal detection undertaken prior to trial trenching done in July 2020 by PCAS Archaeology. Nails of low archaeological potential represented more widely in metal detector survey. Area of disturbance adjacent to the pavilion was the find location of a cluster of artefacts in the metal-detecting survey, including lead flashing, building materials and nails, which may be evidence of a demolition spread, perhaps relating to an earlier phase of the Hall (1) See Brocklehurst, L, 2020, Land at Kelham Hall, Main Road, Kelham, Nottinghamshire NG23 5QX Intermin Metal Detecting Survey Report, PCAS Archaeology ref 2246
