Description

Seven trenches, five 20m long and two 30m long, each 1.8m wide were excavated by mechanical excavator. The exposed surfaces of the trenches were then cleaned by hand and inspected for archaeological remains. The evaluation revealed three undated features towards the north of the site of indeterminate function and several post-medieval features towards the centre, possibly agricultural in nature. All the artefacts retrieved were post-medieval and included pottery, brick and glass.
