Full Description

Trial Trench. A ditch, c.1m wide. Appears to cut the enclosure ditches (a page is missing from the report). (1) (2)
Area excavation. There were three Internal features, one a slightly curving linear running NW - SE. The cut has steep profile. The upper fill a mix of abundant medium sized brick fragments. The second is an L shaped linear feature that cuts across the enclosure ditch (L3612). Finds including a broken base of hand made bottle and several clay pipes of late C17 or early C18. … When the (first) linear feature cut through the grave (see L11873 - this is the third internal feature) it would seem some of the grave goods may have been uncovered and robbed. (3) (4)
See L3612 for enclosure ditches, L11873 for grave, M8471 for Civil War redoubt.
