Two buildings here, each with its own waterwheel. The N building 4 storey in brick and slate 44ft by 28ft with an undershot wheel 16ft diameter by 10ft 6in wide removed in 1939. The S building is 3 storey in brick and slate 33ft by 24ft. The wheel was mainly wooden with 3 sets of 6 wooden arms 6in square and wooden rims. It was overall 16ft 4in diameter with 30 wooden paddles. Iron octagonal shaft 22in across. The pit wheel 12ft diameter with 12 iron arms. A corn mill was on the site followed by a cotton mill wihich changed to corn milling. Names of millers from 1631. It has also been used at some stages as a plaster mill. (4)
