Full Description
A fine cruciform church with a broad spire of unusual design at the W end. Base of the nave piers and the tower are early C13; the nave appears to have been built when the Early English period was changing to Early Decorated, chancel and transepts are somewhat later. Monument supposed to be to Sir Richard de Bingham c 1300. (1)
The steeple is … broad and strong [with] battlements. Broad, not very steep spire … the whole C13 to early C14. The windows are C14 and C15. Complete restoration by Sir G. G. Scott, 1845, and by Caröe, 1912. (2)
