Full Description

Ruthlessly restored by … Mr Christian in 1876-8. The chancel is entirely new. The C14 windows … all renewed too. C15 tower. One of the set of 1662 fonts (cf. Southwell etc.). Monuments: Lady Anne Stanhope d.1587, alabaster. Lady Georgina West d.1824 by Chantrey. (1)
A modern restoration [was] undetaken in 1877-78. Mr. Christian was the architect; the cost of the restoration was £3000 and the whole amount was defrayed by the patron and landowner, the [4th] Earl of Carnarvon. (2)
