Full Description

Glue works. The works were closed in 1919, buildings sold in 1948. In between times used as a warehouse. Now used as a vehicle repair shop. Extensive range of buildings in red brick. The 2 main ones are long and narrow and at right angles. There are 2 worker's cottages on fringe of site in good condition. Yard has a well now covered with a conical hood. Evidence of pits for soaking hides. There is almost a complete system of drainage in the yard. The owner's house is now an inn (Flying Scotsman) - works belonged to Ashworth family. (1)
