Full Description

By Thomas Gardner of Uttoxeter, 1789-92. In the SW corner a vaulted room, much earlier in date. The remains of a medieval tower have been incorporated here. (1)
Country house. Built 1789-92 by Thomas Gardner of Uttoxeter for Thomas Edge. Castle room, incorporating base of C13 tower, has pointed barrel vault, wall panelling C17 and C18. (2)
Strelley Hall, a Georgian building of c.1791, incorporates a medieval tower, but whether it was originally a tower house cannot now be ascertained. (3)
The seat of Thomas Webb Edge, Esq … When I [visited,] the seat was not finished. (4)
