Baptist Chapel. (1)
"A beautiful chapel in the course or erection (1844), for the purpose of enabling the inhabitants of that district, who are principally engaged in the collieries, to receive the benefits of religious instruction. It is a stone building in the gothic style, and will be capable of seating 160 persons. The chapel is built by Mr Thomas North, one of the proprietors of the collieries, at his sole expense".
