Full Description
Trench 5: Large pit, steep concave sides and an irregular rounded base, 0.6m wide and 0.5m deep. Contained 15th-17th century pottery and animal bone. Trench 6: Linear gully with another gully/post hole seen in section. NE-SW, 0.75m wide, continued outside the limits of the trench. Near vertical sides with concave base. Sealed by a subsoil of medieval or late medieval date. Large circular pit, 3m diameter and at lease 0.8m deep. Fills contained 15th-17th century pottery. Trench 8: Sub-circular pit 0.34m wide x 0.64m long x 0.5m deep. Steep sides with rounded base. Contained pottery of late 14th to early 17th century date and building material. (1)
