Full Description

A sub-square pit was dug to accommodate a stone-lined well with an internal diameter of 1.1m and a depth of 2.1m. Pottery of late 15th-mid 17th century date was recovered from the backfill deposits of the cut. The late medieval well was capped at some later point with a domed brick well head. The well was abandoned and capped with three large slabs of dressed limestone. (1)
