Full Description
Trench 4: An alignment of six post holes ranging from 0.45 to 0.25m in diamter. The post holes were not equally spaced and in profile they ranged from cylindrical flat based types to shallow concave, rounded base types. Fills were broadly contemporary. Trench 8: Two post holes located in the eastern arm. One was sub-circular in plan, 0.4m x 0.25m with steep sides and a rounded base. The other was 0.15-0.19 in diamter with steep sides and rounded base. (1) Possible structures relating to a Roman settlement on or near the site. Possibly related to Roman settlement M18366 to the north.
