Full Description

Aligned north-east to south-west. The ditch had a wide U-shaped profile and measured 1.8m wide by 0.3m deep. It appeared to narrow on the northern side of the trench and may have terminated shortly beyond the trench limit. The ditch was filled by a greyish brown silty sand, formed through natural silting, indicating that the ditch may have stood open for some time. No finds were recovered from this fill. (1)

May be same ditch as feature uncovered in trench to south of this trench. (see MNT27647)

Bulk sample taken of fill. Less than 1gr of Galium aparine, Polygonaceae, Chenopodium album, and Poaceae recovered.
