Full Description

Cobbled yard surface comprised of mudstones placed end on and cobbles, as well as reused faced stone. 2m x 1m section of yard surface uncovered, though it continued beyond underneath flowerbeds and full extent unknown. 2 pieces of Medieval and several fragments of post-Medieval ceramics (Cistercian ware and Mocha ware) recovered from the layer above the yard surface.
Yard surface is very compacted and may represent successive surfaces and repairs. Land owner reported redeposited clay lumps within yard surface matrix which may suggest Medieval use. (1)
