Full Description

No artefacts were recovered from this so its chronology is unknown. However, the ditch shows the same orientation as many post-medieval boundaries recorded in the first detailed OS map of the area (OS, 1884) which would imply a relatively recent date. Moderately steep sides and a narrow flattish base. It was 0.40m deep and filled with yellowish/orangey-brown sand incorporating occasional pebbles
