Full Description

A total of ten finds was recovered, all consisting of worked flints. Ten pieces of worked flint represent scant later prehistoric activity. The leaf-shaped arrowhead is Early-Middle Neolithic while thetransverse arrowhead is Late Neolithic. The former was made with an opaque light grey flint and the latter a semi-translucent dark brown flint. Both may be exotic to the East Midlands. The remaining pieces are of local till-derived flint and are likely to be of a later prehistoric date.

The remaining finds observed comprised post-medieval and modern pottery sherds, along with modern brick.

These are likely to have resulted from manuring spreads being added to the fields.
