Full Description

At the southeast end of the trench was a broadly east–west aligned linear feature. It measured 3.9m long, 0.90m wide and 0.44m deep, and contained a single natural silting deposit that contained two sherds of 9th to 11th century Torksey ware pottery. It is likely that two other ditches represent the geophysical anomaly targeted by this trench, and potentially represent a headland associated with the ridge and furrow to the south. A soil sample from the ditch contained very little environmental evidence other than small amounts of charcoal.
