Full Description

A shallow and irregular pit cut, measuring 4.25m long, 1.20m wide and 0.45m deep, and containing three fills: a moderately compact, dark grey, sandy silt, 0.8m thick, overlain by a moderately compact, mid orange brown, silty sand, 0.20m thick, and sealed by a loose mid grey brown silty gravel, 0.45m thick.

Forty-six sherds from 26 vessels were recovered from a pit. There were a range of vessels, stylistically dating to the mid-to-late 18th and mid-19th centuries, with a mixture of unused and excessively worn vessels. There were also several brick fragments from different builds, bone fragments, and sherds of a 18th or 19th century glass bottle. It seems likely that the material was accumulated as part of a clearance assemblage.
