Full Description

The resistivity survey revealed two distinct areas of high resistance – suggesting potential stone foundations – one of which appears to be a long, linear structure that runs north-east/south-west and terminates in a semi-circular feature at the northern end. It covers an area approximately 30m long by around 10m wide. Beyond this, on the northern extreme of the survey grid, a second high-resistance anomaly, also square or rectangular, can be seen. These results show the huge potential for this under-developed part of the settlement at Wiverton, and excavation may help to better understand the purpose, structure and chronology of the features in relation to the Medieval development at Wiverton.
