Title Landscape Survey at Wiverton, Nottinghamshire
Author/Originator
Date/Year 2020

Abstract/Summary

Between April and October 2020, a programme of landscape surveys was undertaken at Wiverton, Nottinghamshire alongside local residents. The work was the first phase of an ambitious research project aimed to investigate extent earthwork features to the south of the Scheduled moated site and surrounding the surviving gatehouse of Wiverton Hall. The work incorporated GPS recording and mapping of existing bank and ditch earthworks, and a possible road alignment identified during initial walkover surveys, alongside a resistivity survey of the open green directly to the south of the Scheduled moated site.
