Full Description

Within the eastern part of the field there are positive features which could represent enclosure or defensive ditches, or potentially ditches either side of a former trackway. These features could again relate to the Roman villa approximately 40m to the west, or could represent a different phase or activity within the area.

There are a number of positive linear and curvilinear features, 2 nT/m. Whilst some of these features, aligned roughly north-northeast to south-southwest may correspond with former cultivation trends, the parallel positive features which extend from the southeastern edge of the field for approximately 20m before turning 90˚ to run for approximately 40m to the northeast may represent enclosure ditches.

The amorphous positive features, 4 to 6 nT/m, may represent pits, soil-filled hollows or former ponds.
