Abstract/Summary

Incomplete draft report of an evaluation trench at Besthorpe Quarry, north-west of the village of Collingham. The objective was to assess the impact of hedgerow growth on Roman archaeological deposits known to exist in Area C. One trench machine excavated through the field boundary/hedgerow transecting Area C. Roman features and finds were recovered and it was revealed that archaeological deposits had been disturbed by the hedge and ditched field boundary.
