Abstract/Summary

This report details the results of archaeological survey that took place in Thieves Wood near Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. The survey took place in February and March 2007. The work was requested by the Forestry Commission and focussed on a suspected burial mound and the immediate area surrounding it. GPS (Global Positioning System) Survey was used to mark archaeological features in the surrounding area, and a Total Station was used to produce a comprehensive topographical survey of the earthwork of the hill itself.
