An archaeological evaluation was undertaken at Gainsborough Road, Beckingham, Nottinghamshire. The work was undertaken in advance of the construction of a bio-fuel plant. A previous geophysical survey had revealed possible archaeological features. The investigation revealed two small pits and one tree throw in two trenches. No artefacts were recovered from these features. The limited archaeological evidence suggests minimal human activity on site, probably limited to agricultural practices. No artefacts were recovered from the investigation area.
