Title Warsop West Field: The Investigation of an Iron Age and Romano-British Site
Author/Originator
Date/Year 2016

Abstract/Summary

This report covers the geophysical survey, excavation, results and finds of a site in the civil parish of Warsop. From the very limited amount of archaeological investigation, it is clear that this site would appear to have evolved from the Iron Age into a fairly wealthy Romano-British settlement. The evidence from the range and quantity of pottery finds, indications of glassware and the signs of a possible heating system all point to an establishment of some importance. The area that has been surveyed by a magnetometer shows the potential of this site.
