Title Geophysical Survey Report: Land South of Ordsall
Author/Originator
Date/Year 2024

Abstract/Summary

A magnetometer survey of 65 hectares of land south of Ordsall has recorded magnetic responses that have been interpreted as being of archaeological interest. Enclosures, pits, a ring-ditch and lengths of ditches have been detected in the survey, with concentrations being in two areas. Some of the anomalies in one area correspond with undated linear features and enclosures that are recorded in the HER (MNT4499). Uncertain responses have also been plotted in the survey; the majority are probably due to natural or agricultural processes, however, archaeological origins cannot be discounted. Former field boundaries, land drains and natural responses are also visible in the survey
