Description

During 1979 a new main sewer was laid underground between Orston and Aslockton. Observation was maintained over the length of this pipeline. The trench for the pipe was approximately 1.3m wide and waried in depth between 2.5 and 3m. No finds or features were revealed in the central section of the pipeline, between the Smite and Cranmer's Mound. (1) Grid ref at E end, centred on Orston pumping station.
