Description

Two areas of trial trenching were undertaken, targeted at the 'ditches' identified from aerial photographs. Trench 1 was opened up over the parallel ditch system … measured 40m x 5m and ran perpendicular to the ditch system. One trench was located to examine the croftings along Staythorpe Road. A trench 15m x 2m was opened. See E9284 for geophysical survey, E9356 for watching brief on road construction, E9487 for fieldwalking.
