Full Description

Gradiometer survey detected linear anomalies which appeared to define an enclosure and boundary ditches of a former field system. (1)
Results of geophysics also shown in SNT4689.
Trial trenches 6 and 7 were intended to target ditches interpreted from the geophysical survey. In trench 6, the ditch was up to 0.29m deep and up to 1.07m wide. In trench 7 the ditch was up to 0.34m deep, 0.92m wide. A well preserved copper alloy brooch was recovered from the backfill. (2)
