Full Description

The north field has a complex network of positive linears defining rectangular enclosures and circular features. The small examples of these could be house plots, whereas the larger ones might be animal enclosures.

The cluster of linears and pits in the north field almost certainly represents some kind of settlement. The density of features makes definitive interpretation from the survey data difficult, but the generalcharacter of settlement is suggestive of a Roman site. Indications of features crossing others may suggest they are of differing dates, and therefore imply some phasing within an extended period of occupation. (1)
