Full Description

The ditch was 1.78m wide and 0.43m deep, and contained an assemblage of ten medieval pottery sherds dating from the 13th -15th centuries, as well as 24 fragments of animal bone, 3.34g of smithing hammerscale and a very limited amount of charred plant remains.

Eastern side was truncated by another north-south aligned ditch.
