Full Description
One evaluation trench contained a large ditch terminus in the centre of the trench. The ditch was previously identified through both cropmark data and geophysical survey, although both surveys suggest that the ditch continued further to the east. The terminus may have formed an entranceway into an enclosure or field in the north-west corner of the PDA. (1)
In addition, two shallow, irregular ditches on a northwest-southeast alignment were also excavated. These were not previously identified, possibly due to the similarity between the fills of the ditches and the surrounding geology. (1)
