Abstract/Summary
A small scale excavation was undertaken within and outside a row of six Victorian cottages known as St. Leonard's Court on Kirkgate, Newark, prior to the restoration of the cottages by the Nottinghamshire Building Preservation Trust. Five small trenches were excavated, four within the buildings and one outside the W wall.
Grid ref centred, though trenches 1 and 2 were in the S end of the cottages and 3, 4, and 5 were at the N end, trench 3 being just outside the building.
