Description
Monitoring of trenches dug through the centre of Tuxford for a replacement main located features thought to be associated with the post medieval road network. Metalling deposits and culverts were identified but no building foundations were recognised. In most parts of the town the trench was not deep enough to penetrate beyond post med deposits. A total length of about 1.2km of trench, 0.5m wide and 1m deep was monitored. (1)
