Description

The field was walked in May 1995 with experienced volunteers, with that to the N which was to be quarried. Fieldwalking was conducted at 10m transect intervals, searching a 2m wide corridor with all artefacts recorded individually by EDM survey. Unfortunately, a datalogger breakdown meant that the locational information for the artefacts from the S and W part of field 5957 was not saved to file. (1) See E9393 - E9395 for trial trenching, watching brief and metal detecting.
