Full Description

An east/west aligned ditch crossed the southern end of an evaluation trench, measuring 1.14m wide and 0.31m deep with steep sides and a flat base, and contained a single fill of mid grey brown silty sand.

A bulk soil sample was taken from the fill but produced only a small number of degraded charcoal fragments.

The feature appeared to continue to the west through to a further ditch.

It is possible that the ditch relates to two ditches that possibly form a partial trackway or represent part of a wider field system such as the Romano-British brickwork field system immediately to the east of the site.
