Title Moor Pond Wood, Papplewick: An Archaeological Site Survey and some Trial Excavations
Author/Originator
Date/Year 2003

Abstract/Summary

A report detailing the results of an electronic digital theodolite survey and the results of the excavation of four trenches. The study sought to understand the former mills, mill ponds, and associated earth works at Moor Pond Wood. The study concluded that with a further programme of geophysical survey and follow-up trial trenches, a full plan of the mills could be revealed. In addition, if the exposed remains could be stablised and conserved, they could act as an educational tool for visitors to the site.
