Title Report on Archaeological Evaluation at the Minster School, Southwell, Nottinghamshire
Author/Originator
Date/Year 2002

Abstract/Summary

Five trenches were dug in order to assess the potential for disturbance that development would have on the Roman villa and the minster outbuildings, already known from previous excavations (Daniels, 1959). Daniels excavation site plans proved to be unreliable for locating the arcahaeology below ground. A N-W wall of a bathhouse cold room was rephased in this excavation so that it is contemporaneous with a previously unknown E-W wall, making it also contemporaneous with a floor layer (which Daniels had phased at a later date).
